Membership Time Commitments

The Junior League of Sioux City (JLSC) does not have a required time committement or set number of service hours. Members can determine how many hours they volunteer each year based on their own schedules.

Each active member will be placed in a committee position.  Each committe has different time commitments. Some are busier during certain times of the year than others, but this allows members flexibility in the amount of time they serve.  Our League will do our best to match you with a placement experience that will empower you to be a more knowledgeable, experienced civic leader.  Click HERE to see Our Journey to be a Member-Centric Junior League!

Active members are required to attend six General Membership Meetings (GMM) each year. GMMs are held the second Thursday of each month from August - May.

Provisional members (first-year members) must complete a short training process with League mentors.  This gives our new members the opportunity to learn the history of JLSC, meet and connect with other new members, understand our volunteer opportunities and hear about our membership benefits.
