Community Impact: Support the Junior League of Sioux City!

Project:

The Junior League of Sioux City project application is for projects that address community needs through funding and participation of its trained volunteers. The application is reviewed on various criteria outlined on the front page of the application. Criterion includes (but is not limited to) community impact, volunteer component, financial consideration, Junior League of Sioux City’s membership needs, and timing constraints. Projects that are selected will run through the next Junior League of Sioux City’s year (June-May).

Done in a Day (DIAD):

As with the project application, the mission of the Junior League of Sioux City is to address community needs through the participation of its trained volunteers. The Done in a Day (DIAD) event has a low financial component to the project and can typically be done in one day with the help of the Junior League of Sioux City volunteers. Generally, projects selected through our DIAD program are to provide assistance to non-profit agencies by offering volunteers for community-based events on a short-term basis. There is not a DIAD deadline but the Junior League of Sioux City is requesting a 6-8 week notice for projects, as applicants are able.

Applications should be submitted to the Junior League of Sioux City at 316 W. 7th Street, Sioux City, Iowa 51103 or by email at community@juniorleagueofsiouxcity.com.

Mildred Anderson Grant:

A Mildred Anderson Grant is a gift that is designed to financially support short-term community need projects. Mildred Anderson community grants of up to $1,000 are awarded for charitable purposes to organizations that: have not received a Mildred Anderson Community Grant within the previous year (June-May); are not currently involved in a Junior League project; are located within the greater Siouxland tri-state area (approximately 30 mile radius); have a proposed project that addresses a community need; have a proposed project which is compatible with the purpose of the Junior League of Sioux City; and will utilize community volunteers to carry out the proposed project.

Applications are to be submitted through the Siouxland Community Foundation. More information can be found at the Siouxland Community Foundation Website.
